Curious, pensive Solange (Jade Springer) lives in Nantes with bookish brother Romain (Grégoire Montana-Haroche), mother Aurélia (Léa Drucker), an actress, and her dad (Philippe Katerine) who runs a music shop. Solange starts to notice tension growing between her parents, and that a separation could be imminent. How will she cope at home, at school, with her friends and herself? Writer-director Axelle Ropert tackles the subject of divorce with great imagination. A terrific character study of a young girl coming-of-age: cruel, dark but often tender, and humorous. Ropert’s composed, sensitive rendering carefully captures complex emotions through Solange’s eyes.
