2001: A Film Odyssey
Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology’s Film Graduation Showcase
Continuing their showcase of emerging international talent, Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art Design and Technology’s award winning Film Department presents an eclectic mix of styles and approaches to the visual medium. A whole range of emotional issues and themes are represented in the student’s creative visions. 2001 marks the 14th graduate showcase and the programme includes innovative comedy, vivacious animation, strange horror, devilish drama, hard hitting documentary, new age romance, and chickens. Lots of chickens. Dun Laoghaire’s excellent reputation has been supported by many professionals in the Irish Film Industry who contribute their continuing good will and guidance. DLIADT’s commitment to excellence in Film and Media education has helped launch many graduates to prominence in Cannes, international film festivals, major Features and award winning shorts and documentaries.
The public viewing of these works bravely seek to stimulate discussion and debate. The 2001 showcase guarantees to leave you moved, entertained, astonished and occasionally wondering – without doubt you will leave the cinema with plenty to ponder.
