German/Ireland • 2011 • Animation/Drama • 97 mins

Irish writer and director Ian Fitzgibbon’s new film is based on an original novel by New Zealander, Anthony McCarten. It’s the story of 15-year-old Donald, brilliantly played by Thomas Brodie-Sangster (Love Actually), a typical teenager who possesses an extraordinary imagination and a talent for art. When he is diagnosed with a life-threatening illness, Donald retreats into a fantasy world in order to avoid confronting the painful reality of his life. This world is occupied by his alter ego comic book superhero, where he fights death as a caped crusader. Set in Dublin, with stunning animations intertwining Donald’s real and imaginary worlds.

In association with Element Pictures Distribution. Film on limited release from Nov 30th.
