Bloody Moon

Director:

Spain-West Germany| 1981. 82 mins.

In Spanish director Jess Franco’s sleazy Bloody Moon, several young women are killed following the escape of a psychopath from an asylum. This unholy union of the American slasher film and the Italian giallo demonstrates Franco’s obsession with sexualised violence in some outlandish setpieces whose imagery borders on the surreal. We’ll be showing the uncut version that was prohibited in many countries in the 1980s.
