Ballroom Dreams

For over thirty years, the National Ballroom in Dublin’s Parnell Square was the premier social venue for thousands, a place where people came to dance and hopefully meet someone special. The Ballroom still stands today, but has long since ceased to be a place of dance. The high ceilings, stage lights and velvet couches are now coated in dust, but it is still possible to sense that this was a special place for an entire generation of young Dubliners.

Ireland, 2001.
