As we prepare for Obama’s flying visit to Ireland, this month’s screenings remind us of two earlier U.S. Presidential visits.

PROGRAMME 2: A SECOND OF JUNE

The visit of President Ronald Reagan was greeted with much less enthusiasm. This delicately told tale follows two young people on their Ulyssean wanderings through Dublin on the day of his visit, capturing the clamour of the anti-Reagan protesters and providing a finely textured picture of Dublin street life in the early ’80s.
