Directed by Tomás MacAnna and produced by Desmond Flynn, this remarkably quirky comedy explores courtship rituals at home and abroad through a series of character studies played by the legendary Jack MacGowran and his Abbey theatre chums.

THE NEW MATCHMAKERS

This film, made by the Radharc team, shows the efforts made by rural priests to increase low marriage rates through the establishment of dating agencies – the Knock Marriage Bureau in Mayo and the A.B.C. (Anonymous Bachelor’s Club) in Limerick – which provide a ‘necessary service’ in the life of Ireland. Best dating preparation and conduct is taught at an etiquette class for young farmers at Glenamaddy.
