AFTERNOON TALK: HISTORICAL RESPONSES TO 12 YEARS A SLAVE

Join us for this month’s FREE Afternoon Talk, Historical Responses to 12 Years a Slave. Defended in the pre-Civil War South as paternalistic, McQueen’s film unflinchingly portrays American plantation slavery as an unjust violent institution. Dr. Nini Rodgers (QUB historian and author of Ireland: Slavery and Anti-Slavery) will discuss the film and offer some historical perspectives. This event is FREE but ticketed.

Reserve your FREE ticket at the IFI Box Office or by emailing boxoffice@irishfilm.ie (given that events can sell out, please note that your emailed booking requests must be confirmed by reply email from the Box Office in order to be considered valid).
