AFTERNOON TALK: 1950s IRISH TEENAGERS, CINEMA AND TEEN FILMS (FREE EVENT – MAY 2014)

Dr. Eleanor O’Leary of NUI Maynooth Media Studies will discuss 1950s Irish Teenagers, Cinema and Teen Films in our Afternoon Talk on Wednesday, May 21st. The cinema was a crucial window into international popular culture for teenagers in essentially pre-television 1950s Ireland. This talk will look at teen films, audience figures, censorship and the cinema as a social space.
