Leon (Thomas Schubert), an aspiring novelist, and Felix (Langston Uibel), his best friend, are at an idyllic woodland retreat to work on their respective artistic endeavours. However, they are forced to share the cottage with seasonal worker Nadja (Paula Beer) and her lifeguard lover Devid (Enno Trebs), much to the chagrin of the petulant Leon, whose anxiety is nearing fever-pitch over the imminent arrival of his literary editor. Leon, who is by turns self-absorbed, neurotic, and desperately insecure, finds his haughty resolve increasingly undermined by helpless desire for Nadja. Meanwhile, a forest fire draws closer daily, threatening to burn all in its immolating path.
