A Further Gesture

A group of H-Block prisoners organise a chaotic but successful break out. With the help of a forged passport, Dowd travels to New York where he goes to ground working in a restaurant kitchen and shuns his colleagues’ attempts to get to know him. He inadvertently gets stabbed in a domestic row and his absence from work prompts his Latino friend Dulio to seek him out. Unable to go to hospital he is nursed back to health by Dulio’s sister Monica, with whom he falls in love. To his horror, he discovers that Monica and Dulio are planning to assassinate a sadistic Guatemalan army officer. Seeing how disorganised they are, Dowd fears for their lives. Torn between his political past and his personal future, Dowd is forced to decide…
