Change of Screening: Owing to unexpected circumstances, the planned screening of Jimmy Murakami: Non Alien has been postponed.

Instead we will screen John Ford: Dreaming the Quiet Man, another documentary by Sé Merry Doyle.

Tying in with the Bealtaine theme, ‘iconic citizens’, this fascinating and revealing documentary explores the making of John Ford’s Oscar-winning film, which starred an iconic citizen of Ireland, Maureen O Hara. The documentary features heartfelt discussions with O’Hara as well as original home-movie footage of the cast and crew’s time in Ashford Castle during filming.  It recounts stories from the people who still remember how Hollywood came to the West of Ireland and changed their lives forever.
