Ireland on Sunday is our monthly showcase for new Irish film. 

Finding Joy tells the story of Lukas (Crisjan Zöllner), a frustrated writer who feels trapped by the expectations of his ambitious wife Brita (Cosima Shaw).

After a chance meeting with Joy (Ji-young Moon), a Korean dance student visiting Berlin, and a few drinks over the course of an exciting life-affirming night, Lukas starts to rethink his circumstances and finds himself drawn inexorably to Seoul in search of love and happiness. 

In this debut feature from Irishman Neil Dowling and his regular collaborator cameraman Nils Clauss, the gloaming textures of the city and a haunting ambient soundtrack provide a mesmeric backdrop to this offbeat, quirky romance.
