MOTHERS DAY PREVIEW – FOUR MOTHERS

Director: DARREN THORNTON

89 mins, Ireland, 2024, Digital

The new film from Irish director Darren Thornton (A Date For Mad Mary, 2016) is a comedy of great sweetness and charm. Edward (James McArdle), gay and single, is garnering some attention for his soon-to-be-published novel, but must balance requests for interviews and plans for book tours with his responsibilities caring for his widowed mother Alma (Fionnula Flanagan), who is recovering from a stroke. When his friends take advantage of his good nature, leaving their own mothers with him while they attend a Pride festival abroad, the intrusion helps Edward and Alma to realise the strength of their own bond.

Mother’s Day Lunch prior to the screening – with all mothers receiving a free glass of Prosecco with their meal. Bookings can be made here.
