Flora and Son

Director: John Carney

Flora (Eve Hewson) is a young, working class nanny, a clubber and mother to teenage Max (Orén Kinlen). When she finds a guitar in a skip, she grabs it as a birthday present to him but his lack of interest leads her to give it a go herself and seek out online lessons from LA-based teacher, Jack (Joseph Gordon-Levitt). An online flirtation between this louche Dubliner and this sensitive Californian soon turns into something deeper, giving them both a sense of hope and showing Flora a way to reconnect with Max through music. John Carney (Once, Sing Street) has done it again, delivering an unashamedly tender and irresistible romance.
