Last week, the IFI launched a huge new initiative – The Irish Adverts Project.
This 18 month project started when 7741 rolls of film were discovered in a warehouse. It was found that they contained Irish television ads from the 60s, 70s and 80s and with a grant from the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland, the huge job of restoring and preserving these ads began.
Now, for the first time, the public can look back at this treasure trove from bygone years with over 200 ads available to view for free on the IFI Player.
Take a look at the huge amount of work involved in bringing the Irish Adverts Project to life in our behind the scenes video.
Watch the ads from the Irish Adverts Project here for free, from anywhere in the world.
