A stunning blend of ethnography and coming-of-age drama shot on location among Kazakh nomads in the Altai Mountains of Mongolia.

Star Wars’ Daisy Ridley narrates the account of thirteen-year-old Aisholpan, a rosy-cheeked smart student who refuses to accept that only men can maintain her tribe’s eagle hunting tradition, and sets out to train her own eaglet. Using drone technology, first time feature documentary filmmaker Otto Bell achieves epic landscapes along with a highly watchable female lead, whose ambitions, courage and sheer determination soar high with her eaglet in the face of all detractors.

The Eagle Huntress is recommended for audiences of 10 years and older. (Notes by Alicia McGivern.)
