[This section is currently being populated and not all films have been added to it.] A film that is directed and/or written by a woman receives an F-rating. The F-rating was originally developed by the Bath Film Festival in 2014 as a way to champion the substantial creative contributions by women to the film industry. A number of cinemas and festivals worldwide have already subscribed to the initiative while, by August 2017, IMDb had over 22,000 films in their database classified as ‘F’. The inclusion of the F-rating by IFI continues its long-standing commitment to the work of female filmmakers. It also forms part of its 2017-2022 Strategy to reflect a diversity of thought in our programming choices through different voices, eras, genders and cultures.
