You'll Never Believe Who’s Dead is a gleefully dark Irish comedy that blends seasonal family chaos with sharp social satire. Writer-director Dallan Shovlin makes an assured debut, drawing strong performances from a talented Irish ensemble cast as the cash-strapped Cosgrove family attempt to solve their mounting financial troubles through an ill-conceived robbery. What begins as a desperate scheme targeting a reclusive local farmer soon spirals into increasingly absurd and unexpected territory, as the family discover that Charlie Bann (Stephen Rea) is far from the easy mark they imagined. Beneath its wicked humour and escalating mishaps, the film offers a keenly observed portrait of family dynamics, individual ambition and the pressures of contemporary life, delivering laughs alongside a surprisingly incisive social commentary.
