Are you an IFI Member aged 18 – 25? IFI & Europa Cinemas call for entries to ’28 Times Cinema’

Are you an IFI member aged 18-25?

Do you like watching films and discussing them?

Would you like to participate in the Venice Film Festival (September 2nd – 12th 2015)?

The IFI in conjunction with Europa Cinemas will select three candidates to compete for a place in the 6th edition of 28 Times Cinema.

Launched in 2010 in partnership with the European Parliament, the LUX Prize and the Venice Days (Giornate Degli Autori), 28 Times Cinema enables 28 film fans (one participant per Member State of the European Union) to participate at the next edition of the Venice Film Festival.

To be in with a chance of being considered, you must submit the following written pieces:

  • A brief CV (in English);
  • A short statement outlining the reasons why you should be considered for this opportunity (10 lines max.);
  • A brief statement about what would be the most important things to consider as a Jury member when watching a film (innovation, emotion, quality of the filmmaking, quality of the script) (10 lines max.);
  • A description of 3 scenes from 3 films you have watched recently (5 sentences max. per film);
  • A short review of a film distributed in Ireland within the last year (10 lines max.);
  • A top 5 of favourite films recently distributed in your country;

  • All items must be your own original work. Plagiarised work will not be considered;
  • Candidates must be a current member of IFI and may be asked to write short blogs/reviews for our website during the Festival;
