A moving and inspirational story about youth, art and freedom of expression, this documentary follows six teenagers from Leeds who have been chosen to represent the UK at Brave New Voices, the most prestigious slam poetry competition in the world. These remarkable young poets from varied backgrounds explosively reveal the concerns of a generation as they compete to become World Slam Champions. Cinematic, imaginative and deeply personal, We are Poets is a testament to the power of creativity, community and the dynamism of young people.

Free Workshop: Slam Poetry
Calling all performers, poets, writers and lyricists! In collaboration with Poetry Ireland we are offering 12 students the chance to participate in a series of high-energy slam poetry workshops led by award-winning poet and spoken word performer, Dave Lordan. The participants will learn about performance, writing and the art of slam poetry, and work towards a live performance which will take place on Dec 12th after the above screening.
