Director: DES DOYLE

90 minutes, ireland/u.s.a., 2014, colour, d-cinema

Director Des Doyle will be interviewed by Newstalk’s Philip Molloy following this screening.

This film lifts the lid on the fascinating world of U.S. television showrunners and the creative teams that combine to make some of the leading series on TV. These women and men instigated the writer-led revolution and battle daily between art and commerce, managing every aspect of a show’s development and production.

Featuring interviews with the showrunners behind Lost, Boardwalk Empire, The Big Bang Theory, The Good Wife, Sons of Anarchy, Spartacus, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Battlestar Galactica and Persons of Interest, this is a film for the box-set generation.

This film is screening as part of the IFI Stranger Than Fiction Documentary Film Festival (September 25th – 28th 2014).
