Irish Film Institute -Roger Graef Masterclass

Roger Graef Masterclass

Aimed at industry professionals with experience of documentary filmmaking, this is a chance to hear how one of the world’s leading Documentary film-makers gets the job done.
The Masterclass will focus on the skills and aesthetics of film directing in the documentary genre, illustrated by clips from Graef’s work. Covering his own particular style and pioneering methods (esp fly-on-the-wall, inside access), it will cover his approach to protagonists and subjects, production design, use of voiceover and music, and his approach to the editing process. It will also touch on his considerable work as a producer and executive producer (His current documentary projects are Race for the Beach and Stealing Klimt). This will be a fascinating and, above all, instructive event. Kevin Dawson from RTE will chair the Masterclass.
