Out Laws follows Namibian activist Friedel Dausab as he challenges laws criminalising same-sex love, confronting the colonial legacy behind anti-queer persecution. Amid threats, public scrutiny, and rising hostility, Friedel’s fight becomes a symbol of hope for LGBTQ+ communities seeking dignity and freedom. Connecting Namibia’s struggle to activists in Sri Lanka and Barbados, the film is a powerful celebration of resistance, solidarity, and the courage required to confront injustice and imagine liberation.

This film will be followed by a 30 minute panel discussion with director James Lewis.
