92 minutes, U.S.A., 2001, Animated, Colour, D-Cinema

This film screened on Saturday 11th  July 2015.

In answering the question, ‘what if the monster in your closet was real?’, Pixar created the world of Monstropolis, inhabited by monsters and powered by the screams of human children collected by ‘scarers’ who have access to the bedrooms of the world using closet doors as portals.

Top scarer is Sully (John Goodman), assisted by his best friend Mike Wazowski (Billy Crystal). Believing the touch of human children to be fatal, when three-year-old Boo follows Sully back to Monstropolis, there is initial consternation. However, as Sully becomes attached to the child, returning her safely home becomes ever more complicated.
