INDIAN AND PAKISTANI FILMS AT THE IFC.

Mainstream Indian films have now become a regular feature of IFC programmes, with screenings at 12 noon on the first Saturday and Sunday of each month. In May and June, programmer Siraj Zaidi extends his selections to include an ambitious regional Indian blockbuster and a Pakistani title that’s become a world-wide success. Okkadu (May 3, 4) is in the South Indian language of Telugu has a scenario that combines a youthful love story, factional fighting and sports. Yeh Dil Aap Ka Huwa (June 7, 8) is the most successful Pakistani film of recent years. This big-budget love story was shot entirely on location in Spain and Switzerland and tells of two Pakistani families living in Europe.
