IFI & WFTI: BRIEF ENCOUNTERS WITH WOMEN 2023 Director: Various Book cinema tickets Now in our 6th year of collaboration, Women in Film and Television Ireland, in partnership with the IFI and supported by Coimisiún na Meán, are proud to present the WFT Short Film Showcase 2023. This programme of seven short dramas and one non-narrative film celebrates the breadth and strength of work being made by new and established women filmmakers in Ireland today. The programme will be followed by an awards ceremony with prizes for Best Writer, Best Documentary, Best Cinematography, and Best Film. WFT Ireland is one of more than fifty Women in Film & Television International chapters across six continents – all working for the same goal of gender balance in the media industry. Chair of WFT Ireland, Dr Susan Liddy, was inaugurated President of Women in Film & Television International in September 2023.
