How do cinemas, festivals and theatres present the work of problematic creators? The discussion will consider programme notes, post-show talks, contextual framing, and even charitable responses, alongside the ethics of anniversary screenings. How do institutions balance audience autonomy with responsibility while preserving cultural history without ignoring harm.

Panellists include Tricia Tuttle, Berlinale Festival Director; David O’Mahony, IFI’s Head of Cinema Programming; Aurélie Godet, Director of Programming at Cork International Film Festival; Sam Ahern, Festival Director at GAZE; and Róisín McBrinn, Artistic Director of the Gate Theatre.
