IFI FAMILY FESTIVAL: RED, WHITE & BRASS

Get some Rugby World Cup fever at our closing film, from the producers of  Hunt for the Wilderpeople. This ‘based on real events’ underdog tale features Tongan rugby fan Maka, whofails to get tickets to the 2011 World Cup to see his home team, so he comes up with a hare-brained scheme to get in by performing as a marching band. He has neither instruments nor skill, but tons of passion and humour, and he pulls together a motley group of friends to form a band. With some homemade instruments for practice, somehow they wangle their way onto the pitch to perform. Though Ireland are actually facing Tonga in September, this cracking family comedy may well have you rooting for the opposite team.
