This beautiful, award-winning film from Germany is an emotional rollercoaster tale of a family dealing with various challenges.
Tom is 10 and sees the world a bit differently from the other children. He doesn’t like change or red things, but he loves space and dreams of getting to Mars. He wears his space helmet any time he’s in a difficult situation.
When his mother unexpectedly has to go to China, Tom has to move with his siblings Nina (15) and Elmar (13) for six weeks to stay with Grandma and Grandpa in the countryside.
To help him cope, Tom’s mother gives him a log book and suggests that he sees the trip as a trial Mars mission. Tom’s greatest wish is to be the first person to fly there. With Nina appointed as radio operator and Elmar as First Officer, Tom prepares his crew for their extraordinary mission.
Don’t miss this heart-warming and thought-provoking story of family dealing with difference.
