How to mend a broken heart? Lucia is a young girl of the indigenous Yorume people in Mexico, whose harpist father has not gotten over his wife’s death. Forbidden to learn the instrument by Fidel, Lucia goes to her grandfather, who teaches her in secret. When local celebrations require a harp player and her father is injured, Lucia is faced with a tough decision. Beautiful and atmospheric film, filled with traditional sounds and scenes.

Please note: Subtitles will be read aloud by an experienced reader.

In association with the Embassy of Mexico in Dublin, there will be a short performance of Mexican traditional dance after the film on Meeting House Square, by Mexican dancers Yovanna Torres Blanco and Jose Luis – Pepe Rodriguez.
