Oscar-winning filmmaker Alex Gibney (Taxi to the Dark Side) follows acclaimed author Salman Rushdie in the aftermath of the 2022 attack that nearly claimed his life. Featuring previously unseen footage captured by Rushdie’s wife, Rachel Eliza Griffiths, and inspired by Rushdie’s own memoir of the same title, Knife explores his recovery, resilience, and the enduring importance of artistic freedom, and reaffirms the power of literature in face of hatred and violence.
