BUILDING AN INTERNATIONAL DOCUMENTARY COMPANY

In an increasingly difficult environment, filmmakers are encouraged to form partnerships beyond their own country – but how can you break into the competitive international market? Special guest Havana Marking of Sundance-winning and Oscar-nominated Roast Beef Television joins a panel of speakers that includes Oscar-nominated animator Cathal Gaffney (Give Up Yer Aul Sins) to discuss the strategies required to thrive in a competitive environment.

Host – Alan Maher

Featuring:

Havana Marking  – a producer of Afghan Star, Smash & Grab and the Oscar Nominated Hell and Back Again, Marking comes from leading UK documentary company Roast Beef.

Cathal Gaffney  the Oscar-nominated animator (Give Up Yer Aul Sins) has successfully developed a hugely successful animation company and gives his views on the documentary landscape.

Andrew Freedman – the producer of Sundance award-winner His & Hers has gone on to develop company Venom into a successful international co-producer.
