IRISH PREMIERE
Returning from 81 days of solitary detention and under house arrest, China’s most celebrated and provocative artist suffers from a sleeping disorder and memory loss while Chinese authorities watch his every move.
This fascinating and revealing film follows Ai Weiwei as he is met with a gigantic lawsuit by the Chinese authorities yet still finds new ways to challenge the Chinese establishment in his fight for human rights. He believes that China is ready for change and he will do everything he can to make it happen.
This film is screening as part of the IFI Stranger Than Fiction Documentary Film Festival (September 25th – 28th 2014).
