A PRIVATE LIFE

Director: Rebecca Zlotowski

103 mins, France, 2025, Digital, Subtitled

SCREENING FROM JUNE 26th

The 18.00 screening on Friday 26th will be followed by a Q&A with director Rebecca Zlotowski, hosted by Rebecca O’Flanagan.

Lilian Steiner (Jodie Foster), a respected American psychiatrist living in Paris, is troubled by the suspicious death of her patient Paula (Virginie Efira). Convinced Paula was murdered, she decides to investigate, opening a Pandora’s Box as she does so. Could the culprit be Paula’s angry husband (Mathieu Amalric), or her tense daughter? Director Rebecca Zlotowski has crafted a sharp and delightful thriller revealing Lilian’s many psychological dimensions. The chemistry between Foster and Daniel Auteuil (who plays her ex-husband) is a pure delight.

This film contains flashing images which may affect viewers who are susceptible to photosensitive epilepsy.
