The IFI Schools Programme for 2017-2018 is off to a flying start with plenty of well-attended events last term and there’s more to come in February 2018 and beyond. Here’s a look at just a few events coming soon to the IFI and other venues.
Loving Vincent (12A) – Feb 20, 10.30am Animated entirely from oil paintings and featuring a cast of Irish and British talent, Loving Vincent tells the story of the last days of the eponymous artist through the vibrancy of his own work. Visually breathtaking throughout, this highly original film offers a glimpse into the psyche of the now legendary artist. Sandra Hickey, production artist on Loving Vincent, will introduce this film.
Careers Day – Mar 1, 10.30 am – 3.30pm Our Careers Day will offer an opportunity to hear from some of the people who work in the film industry in Ireland as both cast and crew. See some short films completed by recent film and animation graduates. Find out from Fresh Film Festival winners how they proceeded to college courses.
Students can attend individually or as part of a school group. Details of talks and times will be posted on our website nearer the date. Booking essential, tickets are €5 and available online here.
