March 7th 2017: The Irish Film Institute in association with LUX and Temple Bar Gallery + Studios will host the second edition of the PLASTIK Festival of Artists’ Moving Image – a festival devoted entirely to artists working with the moving image from March 24th to 26th.
With films by over 40 artists and filmmakers, including both contemporary and historical work, PLASTIK will brings Irish and international work together to form a distinct programme, much of which will be screening in Ireland for the first time. PLASTIK aims to represent the breadth and scope of innovative and experimental work being produced in this ever-expanding field of practice, developing a platform for the moving image, with a focus on the cinema as exhibition space. A festival of this nature allows an intensity of work, creating uneasy combinations, and challenging perspectives through its ability to affect.
