We continue our investigation of the Radharc Collection of over 400 films made by a group of pioneering clerics between 1962 and 1996. The team produced consistently insightful, often radical work exploring social, political and religious issues in Ireland and throughout the world.
PROGRAMME 4: DEAR ANGELA
Angela McNamara was Ireland’s most popular agony aunt in the 1970s. As well as solving the country’s emotional problems, Angela also travelled the country giving talks to parents and schoolchildren.
Four different programmes of films will screen at consecutive lunchtimes throughout August (with double bills on Saturdays). Please ask at the IFI Box Office for dates and times, or check this Events page. Simply book your FREE seat by contacting the IFI Box Office on 01 679 3477 or emailing boxoffice@irishfilm.ie (given that events can sell out, please note that your emailed booking requests must be confirmed by reply email from the Box Office in order to be considered valid).
These screenings are complemented by an online exhibition of related material from the Radharc Document archive which is also preserved in the IFI Irish Film Archive.
