ARCHIVE AT LUNCHTIME: MAKING THEM PAY (FREE EVENT) Director: Book cinema tickets Join us for FREE lunchtime screenings of films from the IFI Irish Film Archive. This month we present some of the source films from our Archive from which extracts were used in RTÉ’s States of Fear, and four television programmes uncovering neglect and abuse. To mark the 15th anniversary of the broadcast of States of Fear, the Mary Raftery Journalism Fund in association with the IFI and RTÉ presents a series of films throughout the month and a day of screenings and discussions on May 24th. MAKING THEM PAY Introduced by Sheila Ahern. Tells the stories of people who as children were sexually abused in school and now consider themselves re-victimised by the State. The programme also looks at the implications for children and their parents todayof recent court findings that the State is not liable in cases where teachers have sexually abused children. It asks who now is responsible for the safety of our children at school. (44 minutes, 2007, RTÉ Prime Time.)
