Jack (Barry Ward), a middle-aged mussel harvester working the rugged coastline of North Wales, sees his tightly ordered world unsettled by both his son’s rejection of the family trade and the arrival of Daniel (Lorne MacFadyen), a charismatic young deckhand. Richly attuned to landscape and community, Helen Walsh’s tender and emotionally resonant drama explores masculinity, repression and longing with sensitivity, creating a poignant portrait of a man confronting the possibility of a different life.
