10 mins, Ireland, 2026, Digital / 20 mins, France, 1924, Digital

SCREENING TUESDAY JUNE 16th

An unknown 1932 text by avant-garde artist Lucia Joyce plunges us into a phantasmagoric world of surreal creativity. Evanna Lynch leads a delightful and frightening odyssey from Lucia’s own exquisitely crafted lettrines, to a shamanic dance which launches her soul into a magical dimension where she demonstrates exactly how to reach the clouds…

René Clair’s Dadaist masterpiece, which premiered during the intermission of a Paris ballet in 1924, is emblematic of Lucia’s creative world. Her mentor Jean Börlin choreographs and appears alongside Man Ray, Francis Picabia, Marcel Duchamp and the film’s composer, Eric Satie.

Followed by a Q&A with Deirdre Mulrooney and Darina Gallagher, hosted by Katy Hayes.
