An adaptation of Alysia Abbott’s much-loved 2013 memoir, Fairyland is a tender, coming-of-age portrait set in 1970s San Francisco. After the death of her mother, Alysia is raised by her charismatic, openly gay father Steve (Scoot McNairy), whose bohemian lifestyle clashes with the expectations of parenthood. As Alysia grows into a young woman, their bond is painfully tested as they must navigate love, loss, and identity against the backdrop of a changing cultural landscape.
