This quirky film tells a migration story with a difference, written, directed and starring El Salvador filmmaker Julio Torres. Alejandro is a toymaker in New York on a work visa, keen to bring his whacky ideas to manufacturers who are not convinced, seeing their marketing in generic products. With his visa running out, a chance meeting with eccentric art critic Elizabeth (Tilda Swinton) may prove a lifeline. It’s funny and clever, with an oddball rhythm between the leads, as he navigates authorities and bureaucracies, and she grapples with an increasingly commercial artworld.
