Director: Stanley Kubrick

SCREENING FROM 12th DECEMBER 2025. OPEN CAPTIONED SCREENING TICKETS NOW ON SALE.

The best adaptation of Stephen King’s work, regardless of what the author himself thinks, The Shining is set in the snowy Colorado Rockies, where author and recovering alcoholic Jack Torrance (Jack Nicholson) acts as caretaker for the Overlook Hotel during winter.

However, he and his family are not alone, and as the hotel’s malign influence over Jack grows, wife Wendy (Shelley Duvall) and young son Danny (Danny Lloyd) are in increasing danger, exacerbated in Danny’s case by his nascent psychic abilities. Filled with chilling, indelible imagery and enough puzzles to inspire a raft of theories and documentaries, Kubrick’s horror masterpiece will always be best experienced in the darkness of a cinema.

There will be Open Captioned screenings at 15.20 on Tuesday 16th, and 20.15 on Thursday 18th.
