FRENCH FILM FESTIVAL: THE PARTY IS OVER

Director: Antony Cordier

95 mins, France, 2025, Digital, Subtitled

(CLASSE MOYENNE)

When tensions escalate between the Trousselards (Laurent Lafitte, Élodie Bouchez), an entitled rich couple, and the Azizis (Laure Calamy, Ramzy Bedia), whom they employ off-book to look after their luxurious holiday home, Mehdi (Sami Outalbali), the law graduate boyfriend of the Trousselards’ wannabe actress daughter Garance (Noée Abita), thinks he can negotiate between the two warring parties and bring everyone to their senses. Needless to say, his well-meaning efforts are less than successful. A razor-sharp comedy that dissects the contradictions and anxieties of the French middle class.
