Hokkyoku Department Store has everything, from jewellery to silks to all kinds of luxury items. The clientele are different, they are all kinds of animals, including some who are extinct. When young Akino gets a job there as an assistant concierge, and she has to learn to deal with these customers, from the fox to the cheetah to the woolly mammal. Her mean floor manager boss keeps a close eye on her, but she has a friend in Eruru – not a penguin but a great auk – who likes nothing more than sliding across the polished floor.

Based on the award-winning manga series, by Production I.G., the company behind Ghost in the Shell, this is a funny, charming, and gorgeous anime, with memorably quirky character animals and humans, working together to make sure Akino does the best job she can.
