As the Empire’s terrifying new weapon, the Death Star, comes online, rebellion leader Princess Leia Organa (Carrie Fisher) manages to smuggle its plans to safety in a robot, R2-D2, who escapes with counterpart C3-PO. The two land on Tatooine, where they meet young Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), desperate to escape the planet’s confines. An encounter with hermit Obi-Wan (Alec Guinness) brings them to a meeting with Han Solo (Harrison Ford) that will set in motion events that will change the galaxy forever.
