This Age & Opportunity/Bealtaine commissioned documentary short film, directed by Cathy Dunne and produced by Maggie Ryan, provides an intimate exploration of the older LGBTQIA+ community living in Ireland. The contributors speak openly and honestly about what resonates with them, not only from their past but their future. What transpired was the capturing of joys and sorrows that continue to shape their lives from love to hope, health and concerns for the safeguarding of their future, as well as the never-ending possibility of accepting and becoming your true self regardless of your age. The film screening (18 mins) will be followed by a post-screening panel discussion (50 mins) chaired by Bill Hughes. Commissioned by Age & Opportunity. The film was principally funded by the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth through the 2020 LGBTI+ Community Services Funding Call Scheme B, with support from The Arts Council.
