This homage to European horror films of the ‘60s and ‘70s is, in the vein of Cattet-Forzani, a visually ravishing piece that is strong on mood, atmospherics, and an astonishing attention to detail. However, the film’s complex narrative shows that it is far more than a mere exercise in style.
