March 16th 2023: IFI Education, who specialise in promoting film education, film culture and media literacy, are delighted to launch the An Cailín Ciúin study guide, a unique Irish language study guide targeted at students in Transition Year and upward.
Suitable for the classroom in T1 and T2 language contexts, with a range of oral, listening and written activities drawing on key aspects of An Cailín Ciúin, themes include family, filmmaking in Irish, Gaeltacht na nDéise, music, and the journey of this extraordinary film, as well as key character studies.
Speaking about this unique guide, Head of IFI Education Alicia McGivern said, ‘We are thrilled to offer this free download studyguide for teachers to accompany our streaming offer on IFI@Schools and in cinema screenings around the country. With the support of COGG and in assoc with breakout pics, teachers can engage with ACC in their classrooms, watching the film and choosing from a whole range of follow up work in the guide.‘
Written by Bernardine Nic Giolla Phádraig, this original guide, supported by An Chomhairle um Oideachas Gaeltachta & Gaelscolaíochta (COGG), will assist teachers in bringing An Cailín Ciúin into their classrooms in a rich and stimulating way.
Presented with the support of COGG and Break Out Pictures. See the study guide here: www.ifi.ie/studyguides
